Winnie Bowman is a Cape Wine Master and brandy expert with a Ph.D in education and a professional background in occupational health and quality management. She has judged wine internationally for over ten years, including the Amorim Cap Classique Challenge, the Platter SA Wine guide, the International Wine Challenge, IWSC, and for Decanter. She is a Grand Maître of the Commanderie de Bordeaux en Afrique du Sud and a committee member of the Circle of Wine Writers and Association of Wine Educators in the UK. She’s a senior lecturer at the Cape Wine Academy and on the educational committee of the Institute of Cape Wine Masters. She has written about wine for a variety of publications and presents tastings for
both private and corporate audiences.
