SCULPTORS LEGACY WALK

The Sculptors’ Legacy Walk along High Street brings South African sculpture into the public realm, creating a unique open-air gallery where art, history and the character of Hermanus come together. The Sculpture on the Cliffs at Gearing’s Point has become a much-loved Hermanus experience and one of the town’s most photographed attractions. Today, that legacy continues along High Street, where visitors can encounter works by artists who have taken part in the Sculpture on the Cliffs exhibition as they explore the town. New works will also be added over time, growing the Legacy Walk into an ever-changing outdoor destination celebrating the rich sculptural heritage of South Africa.

And if a sculpture captures your imagination, you can take it home. All sculptures on the Legacy Walk are available for acquisition. When a work finds a new home, it is replaced by another work by the same artist - ensuring that there is always something new to discover.
