Making a welcome return to Hermanus FynArts, acclaimed guitarist and SAMA (South African Music Award) winner James Grace presents a varied program featuring a diverse selection of guitar masterpieces. Among the highlights are Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos’s set of Five Preludes. Additionally, Grace’s will feature his unique arrangement of JS Bach’s monumental Chaconne, originally composed for solo violin.
To mark the 400th anniversary of English Renaissance composer and lutenist John Dowland, Grace will also include Dowland’s hauntingly beautiful Lachrimae Pavan.
