Backed by Ramon Alexander, his trio, and the Maties Jazz Society, expect a beautiful tapestry of diverse artistry with the mesmerizing talents of Capetonian jazz singers Leslie Kleinsmith and Penelope Radsma, Pedro Espi-Sanchis, (aka the Music Man), Jack Lerole Jnr (Mango Groove fame) and the young singing sensation Nic Miso.

This show draws on inspirational material from iconic local pop and jazz icons such Pacific Express & Zane Adam, Miria Makeba, Mango Groove, Tutu Puoane, jazz guitar icon Errol Dyers, Capetonian

piano maestros Tony Schilder and Abdullah Ibrahim, and many more.

Ramon, an award-winning curator and leading figure in Cape Jazz. founded the Maties Jazz Society

at Stellenbosch University.

Leslie hailing from Cape Town’s District Six, is a beloved cabaret and jazz performer. Penelope captivates with her enchanting voice, blending vintage charm and contemporary sophistication. Nic, a BMus Honours student at Stellenbosch University, is a versatile performer of jazz, Afro-pop, and musical theatre. Jack Lerole Jnr, South Africa’s renowned penny whistler, preserves Kwela music’s legacy through performing and teaching. Pedro, a global festival performer and educator, combines African, Latin, and folk styles showcasing a broad musical heritage.
