All ages are catered for at this year’s festival and for the very young there are three educational and fun performances on the programme: a puppetry and music show, and a play.

Sunlight and Moonshine (ages 4 – 7) is a sensory experience with puppets of a re-worked classic West African folk tale. The Puppetry and the Music Departments of the Enlighten Education Trust have teamed up to create a unique theatrical experience that will be thoroughly enjoyed by both young and old who will watch, listen and join in ….

Queen of Waste / Die Rommelkoningin (ages 6 – 10) is an entertaining educational theatre production by Story Team that brings Oxford Story Tree’s: The litter Queen (Die Rommelkoningin) and all the wonderful characters to life. Chip (Kalla), Biff (Biebie), Floppy (Flappie) and their friends from the grade 1-3 prescribed reading books are presented in a new, exciting format. Young audiences experience a well-loved story through all their senses in an educational performance of watching, listening, reading and having fun.

In a first for FynArts a limited number of tickets are offered at reduced prices to scholars who might like to take a short ‘study’ break and enjoy one of the great weekend shows. The reduced price scholars tickets are R90 for the following shows, and R50 for the lunchtime concerts.

Lusanda Spiritual Group – the powerful voices of the biggest selling gospel group are the main event – Saturday 17 June at 14:30. Venue: Lukhanyo Primary School, Zwelihle
Swinging 60’s – featuring the swinging Sounds of the Sixties with award-winning singers Lynelle Kenned and Brandon October – Saturday 17 at 19:00. Venue: DRC, Hermanus
