Multi-award-winning actress, Fiona plays Stella Goldschlag,
living illegally in war-torn Berlin and becoming embroiled in
a murky world of treachery. It is a genius solo performance of
a complex character – charismatic, charming and dangerous.
Set against the backdrop of the Holocaust, this play encourages
us to confront our humanity, and choices we make when
threatened, posing the question, “what would I have done
in her place?”
Although a dark subject the candour of the character, wry
observations of her horrific situation peppered with resilience
and humour in the face of certain death make this a memorable
and must-see production.
Theatre critics in both the UK and South Africa have hailed
Blonde Poison as compelling theatre. Opinions include …. one
of the most profound and thought-provoking slices of theatre …’
and ‘… is one of those pieces which stays with one long after one
leaves the theatre.’ Another wrote she ‘… was left speechless,
marvelling over Ramsay’s tour de force performance in this
sublime piece of theatre.’
Fiona is one of South Africa’s leading actresses working locally
and internationally. Her award-winning professional career
spanning over 40 years has successfully bridged film, television
and theatre.
Written by Gail Louw, directed by Fred Abrahamse and designed
by Marcel Meyer.
