The highlight of this competition – and one of the highlights of Hermanus FynArts – is the finalists’ exhibition in the cellar of the Bouchard Finlayson wine estate in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. Selected work is displayed on the heads of barrels newly filled with wines pressed from grapes harvested in late February and March.

The Prize Giving ceremony and Opening of the exhibition will take place on Thursday 9 June 2016.

Since the first year of the exhibition in 2013 the number of entries has more than doubled and the number of sales has risen significantly. This year, the exhibition has remained on the barrel heads well beyond the ten days of FynArts, and will only be taken down at the end of November 2015. The exhibition has therefore been visited by a far wider audience and many tourists have returned home with a painting in their luggage.
