Music and more

21 December, 2014

Apart from words, wine, food and, of course, visual arts, there will be music to suit every taste at Hermanus FynArts: classical, jazz, opera and lighter music performed by a line-up of orchestras, choirs, ensembles and soloists that include singers, violinists, harpists, pianists and more.

On Friday 5 June at 19:00 the third Hermanus FynArts will kick off with a spirited Opening Concert with soloists Avigail Bushakevitz (violin) and her brother Ammiel (piano) and Camerata Tinta Barocca orchestra of sixteen musicians.  And the festival will close on Tuesday 16 June at 14:00 with a rousing Youth Day Concert performed by the Delft Big Band. Both the opening and closing concerts will be held in the beautiful Dutch Reformed Church.

Once again there will be daily lunchtime, as well afternoon and evening, concerts and recitals held in churches and in a variety of halls and beautiful homes that have kindly been offered to the festival. Music venues range  from large (seating 600 – 800) to intimate (seating 60 – 80).

Details will follow on the who, where, what and when of the music programme for 2015.
