Hermanus FynArts celebrates the art of wine
The excitement is mounting as the opening of Hermanus FynArts approaches fast. From 10 June the town will be alive with all things art. This includes wine. Hermanus FynArts will be presenting the WinePlus series for the third year to ensure that wine secures its rightful place as an art form.
This is a rare opportunity for wine enthusiasts to experience a carefully curated presentation of fine wines. Attendees are afforded the unique experience of comparing the same or similar varietals that have been carefully selected. They can share observations or put questions to the group of fellow wine lovers and winemakers. It is an opportunity to learn, explore the wines of different regions and share their love for wine. All in the comfortable surroundings of The Marine Hotel.

WinePlus is curated by art and wine writer Melvyn Minnaar who has a special affection for Hermanus as this is where he grew up. Melvyn has drawn on his extensive network and knowledge of wine to ensure a quality line-up at The Marine. The programme includes local winemaker Hannes Storm who ventured on his own after an extensive period of making wine at Hamilton Russell Vineyards. Storm will be explaining the wine term “terroir” and the role it plays in the production of wine. For the second time attendees will be treated to the expertise and charismatic personality of Pieter Ferreira also known as Bubbles Ferreira because of this success with the production of Methode Cap Classique. WinePlus affords the chance to meet and have a personal interaction with South African wine personalities.
WinePlus is definitely an event not to be missed. It is wine plus culture, art, friends and fun. It is wine and so much more.
