This year, and in future years, FynArts will recognise the diverse origin of immigrants to South Africa and their contribution to the arts as well as to the South African way of life. A fine thread will therefore run throughout the festival, linking the FynArts line-up to one such country of origin. In this way a few of the talks, demonstrations, performances and other events, will highlight this connection. In this first year, FynArts will introduce the Italian Connection: the programme will include a number of events that acknowledge Italy and the Italian culture, their art, music, food and wine.
