Food and Wine Tastings

24 April, 2016

From French to South African, using products from the land to the sea, this year’s food demonstrations will inspire, entertain and educate. Top chefs will bring their talents and tips out of the kitchen and into the MacBrothers pop-up kitchen installed at the Whale Coast Hotel. Watch, learn – and taste – during informative and fun sessions. Tickets may be purchased singly or as a morning or afternoon series.

Then FynArts’ Wine Plus series will be presenting another special Top-end Tastings and Talks during the June festival. The series will be presented by well-know personalities in the wine industry. Adding to this year’s French thread will be brandy and bubbly tastings. In addition, a special tasting, ‘The Critics’ Choice’ will be a fun event during which well-known wine writers nominate a single ‘best wine’.

Wine Plus, curated by Melvyn Minnaar, a wine and arts writer, has invited well-known personalities to present the sessions in a series that showcases the excitement that defines the current state of local wine. “The accent is on talent and thrill – hence that word ‘Plus’,” says Melvyn.

These popular sessions are informative yet not too technical, and are framed by a fine selection of wines to taste. Each event of 45 minutes is a stand-alone and festival-goers may purchase single tickets or a series ticket.
